I bake bread – lots of bread

My name is Jane Oosterhoff. I’m a Christian wife, mom, grandma – blessed to have been able to retire from my 18 year job as a school administrative assistant.

I’ve been promising for a few years to share a video with everything I have learned about baking bread. The first tab – bread with a hand mixer – it’s 17 minutes long but it goes into lots of detail on the why and what to use aspect. Watch it – even if you are using the KitchenAid.

On this blog, I want to share recipes and methods – not sure how aften I’ll get to it!

I’ve been baking bread since 1985 – what started as a bit of a challenge, turned into an adventure. There was no internet in 1985, so off to the library for research.

Lots of trial and error – lots of advice – the result is that I’ve got a basic white bread recipe that is 99% dependable. I still make mistakes sometimes!

I usually give myself a 3 hour window from start to on the table 🙂
